A Few Brothers Have Spoken.

You answered five brief questions in a survey last month. Here is what you said:

What is your fondest memory of being part of Phi Delta Theta?

  • Going through hell week
  • I remember winning the musical portion of the Greek Week talent show in 1995 by playing the song, “Piano Man.” I was a Sophomore and was my first year living in the House. I had the entire Newport Hall crowd of 2,000 people holding their beers up in the air…singing along. It was the first time I truly felt like a celebrity.
  • Having fun in my early 20’s
  • My fondest memory is just being at the house with the rest of my fraternity brothers.
  • Living in the house my last quarter in college

What are the top 3 things you gained from your Phi Delta Theta experience?

  • Confidence, friendship, and strength
  • Three things I received were 1) completely unforgettable and insane experiences, 2) true meaning of Brotherhood, and 3) a lifelong friendship with another brother.
  • Teamwork/meeting new people/importance of brotherhood
  • 1. Compromise for the greater good. 2. Confidence in speaking to and meeting new people in social situations. 3. The importance of brotherhood and being there for one another in a time of need.
  • Lifelong friends, Learned how to work as part of a team, Learned how to sell

How would your life be different today if you had never joined Phi Delta Theta?

  • Would never have graduated from Ohio State
  • I feel that I wouldn’t have gained the leadership qualities that were picked up during my tenure in the House. Membership taught me how to be more social and relaxed amongst people at social gatherings.
  • My life long friendships and business connections would not be near what they are had I not joined PDT.
  • Would have different friends

As an alumni association, we strive to keep you connected with the Ohio Zeta chapter long after graduation. What could we do to encourage you to become more active in the association? Perhaps by hosting more fun events? Any other advice?

  • Events in Dayton
  • I would love to know more about alumni associations that are located out in Southern California. I am aware of several other Phi’s who live out here, but I’m also interested in associations for networking/correspondence purposes.

Thank you for sharing your memories and your opinions. Your words mean something to us, brothers. We have heard you and will act on your advice.
