Class of 1976

Since graduating from OSU in the fall of 1976, I have lived in the Columbus since that time. Attached is a nice photo of my
family (spring break 2010 in Arizona). From left to right: My wife Joan; my daughters Maggie (now 15) & Bailee (now 14) and me.
Via my first marriage, I also have a son….Matthew who is now 30.

I have worked for WS Packaging since January 1988….WS Packaging is the largest manufacurer of pressure
sensitive labels in the U.S.

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen my Phi Delt buddies for decades. The exception….I just ran into Tom Batista (Batman) a couple of
weeks ago. Back in the ’70’s, Phi Delta Theta was a premier fraternity. Let’s just say that I (we) had a GREAT time
during those days. It would be great if the 70’s Phi Delts could meet before an OSU football game this year.

Class of 1970

Been a tough year for the football program with all the allegations and JT resigning but we will still play football. Let’s all wish coach Fickell and the team the best of luck and another victory over that team up north.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to retire from my position as Senior Electrical Technician at North Star BlueScope Steel Delta, Ohio this past June 13th.

It was the culmination of a long career in the electrical field that started with a degree in marketing 1970 and a low draft number in the lottery (24) that lead me to the Air Force. Not a likely start, where I ended up, but an interesting ride.

My experiences as a Phi didn’t start till my junior year when my best friend Tim Rhode had already become a Phi and I was accepted as a pledge. Lots of good times….. resale chairman and house manager over the summer of 1970.

Pat Hylant tasked me with keeping the house clean the summer of 1970…….. yeah right! I locked the front door and left a note to use the side door. Yep!

Old Phis and maybe anyone could rent house space in the summer in those years. Tim and I were working full time in a position that Dick Crawford made available with the Ohio State Dept of Highways.

Keep in mind the house is almost empty but we have an old phi with a bowling ball that got a room upstairs.

Didn’t know a summer house manager had to be referee.

God Bless

Class of 1978

This is from Howie Jesko #1582…I’m looking for Mark “Ridge Runner” Starr. He was from Louisville, KY and was a great guy. His phone number here on the website was disconnected. Anybody know where he is? By the way, I’m still alive after the brutal amount of partying we did in the 70’s. My brother Tom and I are manufacturers’ representatives in the specialty construction field. I live in Boardman, Ohio with my wife Debbie Juruaz (a Pi Phi at OSU) Our two daughters are freshman and sophomore at Youngstown State U. where they are scholarship tennis players. Other than needing a knee replacement in a few weeks, health is good. Anyone out there wants to talk about old times call me on my cell phone 330-284-3062. Take care everyone.
