Class of 1966
(15502 Avery Rd., Rockville, MD; [email protected]) I recently attended two high school 50th reunions, in Virginia and Iowa, and am looking forward to an Ohio Zeta Class of 1966 50th in four years.
I am still active in my settlement consulting business. I fly fish for trout as often as possible (especially around Livingston, MT) and try to photograph some exotic location once a year (though sometimes it is my wife’s backyard garden that is most exotic). Check out some of my work at www.flickr.com/photos/lhcurtis/. I am a devoted fan of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, and the New York Yankees. I split my reading between 20th century literature, sci fi and mysteries. I take dance lessons from a lawyer named Erica Smith. I remember my Ohio State Phi Delt days fondly and would enjoy hearing from anyone who wants to reminisce.
In the past year I have survived a Derecho storm (though 11 large trees did not), chronic power outages from Pepco, a bout of afib while dancing the waltz (which the Dr. said will not likely ever happen again), thunder storms which fried hdmi cables and two nice flat screen tv’s, a gang of robbers brazenly strode up our driveway and torn open our car to steal an iPhone from the car that was so coded and blocked that we could hardly turn it on ourselves (which we electronically tracked to the robber’s home and police would not get a warrant to get it back) and a retinal vein occlusion in my right eye which has won me a spot in a Genentech research study at Johns Hopkins. However, I have two sons, a daughter, a son in law and daughter in law plus 4 super great grandkids that I see often who, along with my beautiful wife Sharon, are the joys of my life.

Class of 1968
Many brothers will remember Dan Piloseno and Bob Dierker, class of 68, PDT roommates and OSO law school classmates. Dan is an Administrative Law Judge living in Tampa, and Bob is the VP & General Counsel of a Virginia technology company. They reunited in Virginia on 8/4/2011 to revisit old PDT memories. At the top of the leaderboard was recalling how pleased so many pledges were over the generous opportunity to clean Dan & Bob’s room three to five times a day. It seems that the guys had each adopted a Labrador retriever puppy. Sometimes, as in always, the puppies left presents on the floor in that room on the second floor. Pledges lined up to volunteer to help with the clean ups, and to take the pups on their daily walks. Especially in the snow and freezing rain. Sometimes Bob and Dan would want to do it themselves, but being the good brothers that they were, they always relented and let the pledges do it. They knew that shoveling crap was an important skill set for these guys to have before entering the real world. Sadly, none of them has ever sent Bob or Dan a thank-you note for the kind opportunity and training they provided.
Eventually Dan and Bob moved into an apartment together. Next door lived a three foot parrot that instantly learned and repeated every obscene remark that Bob or Dan hollered to kindly ask the parrot to quit jabbering all night long. Still, he did also learn the OSU fight song fairly quickly as well. But that is another story for another time!

I have been living in Ownens Cross Roads, Alabama for the past 16 years and enjoying the laid back lifestyle. My daughter is just graduating form High School and will be going to Alabama. I couldn’t convince her to go to Ohio State. She says its way too big!! I have a small ranch with some horses that my daughter rides competitively. Lot of fun to watch but also a lot of work. I have a business that ,makes and sells Wear Resistant Liners made of Polyurethane, Rubber, or Ceramic to the Rock Quarry Industry and Gold Mines. Its a fun business and have always enjoyed its challenges. My wife Kathy has an Interior Design business that she has been doing for the past 12 years. She’s always doing something to the house. I never know what change I’ll find when I return from business trips.

Brother David R. Scheiderer (Flounce) joined the Chapter Grand on December 4, 2006. Dave lived in northern California and is survived by his wife, Katherine Barco, god daughter, Elena Barco, and his brother, Dr. John S. Scheiderer (also an Ohio Zeta Phi) and his family. Dave was a retired journalist, having served in editorial positions with the L.A Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Columbus Dispatch and Akron Beacon Journal. Dave was a longtime friend to many of his Phi brothers, and he is greatly missed. He was also a loyal Buckeye, Browns and Indian fan.
